MEMBER EVENT: CAER of Metro Huntsville Annual Managers Luncheon
The purpose of this event is to share the opportunities and benefits of CAER membership with the managers of current and future member companies. Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) organizations were begun in 1985 following the passing of the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).
CAER of Metro-Huntsville was formed in 1986 by local industries and the Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency. CAER organizations give local industry, government officials and emergency response organizations a framework for following the EPCRA. The EPCRA requires facilities to submit inventory and emissions report to local emergency planning officials to better prepare for any possible emergency situations.
CAER of Metro Huntsville was formed in 1986 by local industries and the Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency. CAER is a group of representatives from member companies, government entities, and citizens working together to promote sound environmental practices, emergency preparedness, and accountability in the business and corporate setting. These objectives are performed to ensure the residents of Huntsville and Madison County a clean environment and a safe place to live, work, and play.
The purpose of the CAER organization is for members to work together to promote sound environmental practices, emergency preparedness and accountability in the business and corporate setting, exchange information and ideas to promote the reduction in environmental hazards and improve emergency response. Annual training is provided at a significantly reduced price and topics of interest are communicated at the quarterly meetings.
