Lewis Newly Appointed to Atlanta Fed’s Birmingham Branch
HUNTSVILLE, AL – PROJECTXYZ, INC. is proud to announce the appointment of Larry E. Lewis Jr. to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to the board of directors of its Birmingham Branch. Appointed by the Board of Governors, Lewis will serve a three-year term ending December 31, 2027.
Lewis has served as president of PROJECTXYZ, Inc., a Huntsville-based company known for its innovation, since 2007. PROJECTXYZ was founded in 2002 as a technical solutions company and has since grown to encompass a diverse portfolio of services, including engineering, manufacturing, broadcasting, foreign military sales, logistics, alternative energy, and information technology. The company provides expertise in the research, design, development, integration, and sustainment of innovative solutions for federal and commercial customers both domestically and internationally. Under his leadership, PROJECTXYZ has achieved numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies.
In addition to leading PROJECTXYZ, Lewis has served as chief executive officer of the Business Technology Development Center (BizTech) since 2015. BizTech, a Huntsville-based business incubator founded in 1997, supports entrepreneurs by providing the tools and guidance they need to thrive. Prior to these roles, Lewis was vice president of corporate development and information technology for Madison Research Corporation from 1996 to 2007. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in technical industrial management and a Master of Business Administration in finance and strategic planning, both from the University of Alabama.
Beyond his professional achievements, Lewis is actively involved in advancing economic development throughout Alabama. He currently serves on the boards of the Shoals Economic Development Authority, Opportunity Alabama, and the Business Council of Alabama. His dedication to community engagement is evident in his advocacy for education and professional growth, particularly through programs like EDGE, a cooperative work program designed to equip high school students with practical experience and career readiness skills.
As a member of the Birmingham Branch board, Lewis will contribute his extensive expertise in business development, strategic planning, and innovation to support the Federal Reserve’s mission of fostering economic stability and growth. Additionally, The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta announced the appointment of Michael Ross, president and chief executive officer of CB&S Bank in Russellville, Alabama, and a graduate of the University of Alabama. Ross will serve alongside Lewis for the three-year term for the Birmingham Branch directors to provide regional economic insights to inform monetary policy decisions and discount rate recommendations. These appointments reflect the Atlanta Fed’s commitment to ensuring diverse and experienced leadership representing the Sixth Federal Reserve District.
