- Avoid the common HR mistakes made by most employers
- Understand Employment Laws based on your company size
- Find the best free Recruiting sites and job boards
- Distinguish between discriminatory and legal interview questions
- Document performance and separations to defeat Unemployment Compensation claims
Guest Speaker:
Samantha Brinkley, MA, SHRM-SCP CEO/HR Business Advisor, graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in English. She was a Personnel Officer in the U.S. Air Force where she attained the rank of Captain and simultaneously earned her Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from Chapman University.
Brinkley has nearly 20 years of Human Resources experience in a variety of industries. She is motivated to assist people and companies achieve their full potential. She launched Rocket City HR in March of 2011, where she and her staff have helped countless businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies reach new heights. In addition, the company has volunteered numerous hours providing pro bono services to veterans, job seekers, and community organizations in need. Rocket City HR was a finalist for the Madison Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award in 2014.
Brinkley has earned the designation of Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the North Alabama Society for Human Resource Management (NASHRM), and the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Catalyst Center for Business and Entrepreneurship and the Women’s Economic Development Council.
