MEMBER EVENT: Understanding ISO Certification - Government Contracting Credential Series Workshop
SO 9001, this international standard for a quality management system (QMS), and its sister standard AS 9100, the international QMS standard for the Aviation, Space and Defense (AS&D) industry, are part of a family of Quality Management-related certifications that more and more Government solicitations are requiring as needed for a responsive proposal. All these standards are basically the same and based on ISO 9001:2015. This workshop is taught by Jay Billings, Vice President of DMSC at DOD and he will share the following:
- Brief history of "ISO"
- How is the standard organized
- What are the differences between ISO 9001, and AS 9100
- What about ISO 14001 (environment), 20000-1 (service Management), 27001(Information Security Management--CMMC Equivalent) and 45001(safety)
- What is the requirement to become certified? And how long does it take?
- How many of the requirements do I already meet?
- What more do I need?
