MEMBER EVENT: See 250,000+ Endangered Gray Bats (TOTT program)
TOTT invites your to observe 250,000+ endangered Gray Bats at the Sauta Cave, near Scottsboro. Nick Sharp, nongame biologist with the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Nongame Wildlife Program, will tell us all about the gray bats of North Alabama's protected Sauta Cave. This is the largest nursery colony of gray bats east of the Mississippi River and all the bats emerge about 30 minutes before true dark.
No reservations required! Please bring a poncho with hood and a flashlight.
Located at Sauta Cave Drive (closed to cars) - just past mile marker 131 on Highway 72, heading East toward Scottsboro. Park alongside Highway 72 and walk approximately 200 yards to the observation platform.
