MEMBER EVENT: LearningQUEST - Civilian Conservation Corps (1935-42)
Madison County was home to three Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps in the late 1930s and early 40s. CCC workers built much of Monte Sano State Park as well as providing agricultural assistance to farmers throughout the county.
We’ll take a look at who these young men were, what their lives in the CCC were like, and what they achieved by their hard work. We’ll also look at how these camps were organized and the impact of their various projects on our community.
