Meet the Expert:
Patrick B. Fazzone advises and assists clients in sophisticated commercial transactions, corporate law, technology transfers and international trade law. His clients include U.S. and overseas private and quasi-governmental entities, including those in high technology industries.
Fazzone also routinely advises clients on customs matters, export controls, international trade agreements, and has represented clients in connection with the full range of international trade regulatory proceedings before the U.S. Government including antidumping and countervailing duty, safeguards and Section 337 cases. He has represented the interests of global business groups in connection with a number of the most significant international trade initiatives in recent years.
Fazzone has published, taught, and spoken widely on international business and trade regulatory matters throughout the U.S. and in Europe, Australia and Asia. He is also Chairman of the Trade and Government Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia.
Alabama: Expanding Exports & Supporting Jobs through Trade Agreements
The United States currently has free trade agreements in force with 20 countries, which accounted for $8.5 billion (44 percent) of Alabama’s exports in 2014. During the past 10 years (2005-2014), exports from Alabama to these markets grew by 86%. The regional trade agreements currently under negotiation – TPP and TTIP – accounted for 62 percent of U.S. goods exports in 2014 and supported an estimated 4.2 million U.S. jobs in 2013.
