MEMBER EVENT: An Evening in the Cove
This exclusive farm-to-table event will provide a unique, fun dining experience while educating guests about the importance of environment sustainability. We chose McMullen Cove’s breathtaking atmosphere as the perfect backdrop for such an occasion; surrounding guests with the natural beauty of Alabama’s mountains and valleys. This special event will raise environmental awareness while cultivating a strong sense of community.
Our chef de cuisine for the event, Helen Herrand – former ACF Chef of the Year, former ACF Apprentice of the Year and former Taste of Huntsville Chairperson – will delight us with seasonal tastes using raw ingredients from our own community farms. Her food is simple and accessible yet highlights the unique flavors of top quality local produce.
About Nexus Energy Center:
Nexus Energy Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building smart energy communities throughout the state of Alabama. We do this by administering energy programs for education, conservation, efficiency and renewable generation. Nexus has gained tremendous experience in the energy efficiency arena through our highly successful AlabamaWISE (Worthwhile Investments Save Energy) program; an energy efficiency program focused on helping homeowners in Alabama reduce energy usage. Nexus also administers the Comfort Project, a community-based program that helps underserved homes lower their utility costs through the installation of energy efficiency measures, at no cost to the homeowner.
