Spotlight on Recovery: 4th Annual Recovery Resource Fair Happening Wednesday, Sept. 21
HUNTSVILLE, AL — Anyone looking to learn about available resources for a substance use disorder/addiction treatment — with or without insurance — should plan to attend the annual Recovery Resource Fair.
As part of National Recovery Month, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, Partnership for a Drug-Free Community and its Recovery Resource Hub will host a Recovery Resource Fair as part of National Recovery Month. It will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Partnership’s office, located at the One Stop Shop of Community Services, 2201 Clinton Ave. W. (Intersection of Clinton and Seminole Drive.) Parking will be available across the street at the Rocket City Credit Union.
There will be up to 20 area treatment and service providers available in one place to answer questions about the different types of treatment and recovery services available locally.
Starting at 4:30 p.m., treatment providers will have booths set up with representatives who can answer questions about the types of resources available in the area and how to access services.
At 6:30 p.m., guest speaker, David Battle, who is about to celebrate 26 years in recovery will share his incredible journey. He was a high school and college football standout until a knee injury ended his playing career at Auburn. His subsequent involvement with illegal drugs and addiction led to his imprisonment twice – where he also was eventually inspired to change. Since then, he’s earned four college degrees and works in the substance use field helping others find and maintain sobriety.
Please help us spread the word about this event as our community faces record numbers of overdose deaths. Letting people know there are resources available to help and that people can and do change their lives is an important part of making a difference in the opioid and fentanyl epidemics.
