Rocket City Mom Announces New Owner and Publisher

Rocket City Mom, North Alabama’s go-to resource for local families, announced that Rebecca Hitt has stepped into the role of Owner and Publisher. A North Alabama native and familiar face to the Rocket City Mom community, Hitt brings a longstanding passion for connecting families to the people, places and events that make Huntsville and North Alabama a great place to raise kids. 

Hitt joined the Rocket City Mom team five years ago and has been instrumental in shaping the content and community that readers rely on. 

Before coming to Rocket City Mom, Hitt spent years telling Huntsville’s story in some of the city’s most beloved institutions, including the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and the Huntsville Historic Depot, leading tours, educating children and working on exhibits that brought local history to life for visitors of all ages. That commitment to story telling and community connection has always been at the heart of her work, and it travels with her into her new role as RCM Owner and Publisher.

“Rocket City Mom has been a trusted resource for Huntsville families for years, and I’m honored to carry that legacy forward,” said Hitt. “Rocket City Mom is built on an incredible foundation. My goal is to keep building on that and remain the go-to guide for families across the Tennessee Valley.”

Hitt’s purchase of Rocket City Mom is just one milestone in a big year for the platform. A newly redesigned website features a fresh look and improved navigation to get local families to the resources they need quicker and easier than ever before along with a new app for accessing those resources while on the go.

Hitt and her husband, David, have one son and a border collie.
