Kimberly Byrge, CEO of OTC, Inc., Named 2023 Woman-Owned Business of the Year

Huntsville, AL – In an unexpected and exciting turn of events at the Small Business Awards Gala, Kimberly Byrge, CEO of OTC, Inc. (formerly Ohio Technology Clearinghouse, Incorporated), was awarded the prestigious title of 2023 Woman-Owned Business of the Year by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. This recognition comes as a testament to Kimberly’s remarkable leadership and growth, and OTC's dedication to excellence and community impact.
 
Kimberly Byrge co-founded OTC over 25 years ago, and started her climb to leadership by working inside the company all the way up to taking the helm of OTC as its new CEO, showcasing her story of legacy, dedication, and innovation. Kimberly is the daughter of OTC's founder and former CEO, Thomas Bennett. Since assuming leadership in 2021, Kimberly has not only purposefully preserved the company's legacy but has also set ambitious goals to take it to new heights.
 
Kimberly Byrge expressed her gratitude at receiving the award, stating, “Words cannot express how thankful I am to have received this coveted 2023 Woman-Owned Business of the Year award from the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber. In the group of over 6,500 woman-owned businesses in Huntsville / Madison, the competition is fierce. I know many of you and I am so proud to be in the company of all of you.  It is not the company, but the people in the company. They are the heartbeat of our community. I really appreciate all of those we serve including our war fighters. I couldn’t be more proud of the work we have done to date and I am even more focused now to continue our path of excellence, collaboration and initiative.”

Kimberly Byrge has tirelessly worked to elevate OTC to new heights as CEO. She has incorporated an extensive employee benefits packages, prioritizing the well-being and future of their team. In 2023, OTC worked to get their CMMC accreditation, and is working towards Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) accreditation, further expanding the company's capabilities and competitiveness.  OTC has also fostered a culture of community involvement, advocacy, fun and family. Leading from example from her service on the board of Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) North Alabama Affiliate, to herself with OTC’s President and FSO restarting music together with relaunching ‘The Soul Source Band’, they aim to keep the community and family feel in the company even as they grow.
 
In another significant move, Kimberly Byrge partnered with Bailor Group management and marketing consulting company focused on growth strategy based in Huntsville, AL.  This partnership aims to unlock growth, overcome internal and external challenges, and enhance OTC's brand image furthering Kimberly’s commitment to OTC it’s long-term success. Stepping into the leadership role of a government services company in a predominantly male-dominated field was not without its challenges. Kimberly Byrge actively leveraged women-focused business organizations such as The Catalyst Center for Business and Entrepreneurship, Women in Tech (WIT), Women in Defence (WID), and National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) to gain support, guidance, training, workshops, and insights for women business owners.
