ECS Responds to President Biden's Executive Order Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities through the Federal Government

Today, Educational and Community Strategies (ECS), DEI training and consulting firm, released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s recent executive order covering a wide range of social justice issues, including discrimination and racial justice, immigration, and environmental justice.

"For the past few years, we have worked with organizations on addressing equity by helping to solve the challenges that diversity, equity, and inclusion present to their people, plans, processes said Tamisha Sales, Co-Founder. “With President Biden’s executive order that builds on the grassroots actions to addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion that is currently happening on the local level in communities and businesses throughout the country, President Biden is sending a clear message and a strategy to fight systemic inequities," said Tamisha Sales.

“Diversity, equity, and inclusion have been a priority for Educational and Community Strategies and the organizations we serve.  As the world is increasingly becoming more diverse, it is encouraging to see an unprecedented effort on the federal level that addresses diversity and equity comprehensively, through various initiatives, across multiple agencies and departments,” Dr. Larry Collier concluded.

While most of the first set of executive actions focuses on federal agencies,  it will not only impact federal agencies. The executive actions will lay the groundwork for an anticipated emphasis on the private sector’s efforts in addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Organizations -federal contractors, schools, nonprofits, or those in the private sector-can begin to prepare for the changes to come by reading the executive order, engaging diverse communities, and participate in discussions and trainings.
