Calhoun to Host One of North Alabama's Largest Job Fairs, Sept. 19

Calhoun Community College’s Career Services department is excited to announce its Fall Job Fair on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The event will be held at the college’s Huntsville campus in the Sparkman Building, with two convenient sessions: 10 AM – 1 PM and 4 PM – 6 PM. The job fair is open to all Calhoun students, alumni, and community members. This year’s fair is proudly sponsored by BASF, Regency Healthcare, Gregory Industries, and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Pre-registration is not required.

According to Kelli Morris, Calhoun’s Acting Vice President of Student Services and Director of Career Services, over 40 employers are currently registered to attend, with new companies being added daily. Calhoun’s Fall Job Fair is one of the largest of its kind in North Alabama and offers attendees valuable networking opportunities. Many employers attending will be seeking candidates to quickly fill both part-time and full-time positions at their organizations, so attendees should be prepared if potential employers wish to conduct on-the-spot interviews.

“We always encourage our job seekers to dress as if they are going to an interview, which helps them make a great first impression,” says Morris. “Bringing multiple copies of your proofread résumé is also highly encouraged, as you never know how many companies may request it if they are interested in bringing you on board, and you don’t want to run out,” Morris adds.
