Calhoun Offers Students a Chance to Lead on Campus and Earn Scholarship Support through Warhawk Program

Students planning to attend Calhoun Community College this fall have a new opportunity to get involved, build their resume, and receive help paying for college. Applications are now open for the Warhawk Student Ambassador Program, a selective leadership program that includes a partial scholarship.

The deadline to apply is May 1, and interested students are encouraged to apply soon.

The Warhawk Student Ambassador Program includes 15 to 25 students who serve as the official representatives of Calhoun. From leading campus tours to assisting with events and connecting with the community, Warhawks play a key role in student life while gaining valuable experience.

Students selected for the program who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher receive a partial scholarship equivalent to a six credit hour course during both the fall and spring semesters. The scholarship is applied directly to tuition, helping students reduce the cost of their education while staying engaged on campus.

“Students today are looking for meaningful ways to get involved, build leadership skills, and make the most of their college experience,” said Kassie Mathis, Vice President of Student Services at Calhoun Community College. “The Warhawk program gives them that opportunity while also providing valuable scholarship support that helps ease the financial burden of college.”

Warhawks are full time students who commit to academics, leadership, and service. Members attend weekly meetings, complete service hours, and participate in campus and community events throughout the academic year. The program is open to both incoming freshmen and returning students, with the opportunity to serve up to two years.

For students who want to get involved, meet new people, and make an impact on campus, the Warhawk Student Ambassador Program is a strong next step.

Apply at calhoun.edu/warhawks before the May 1 deadline.
