HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 17, 2020 – The AT&T Foundation is donating $15,000 to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Emergency Assistance Fund to support those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant will be used to provide personal protective equipment, such as masks, goggles and hazmat suits for nurses and physicians.
"We appreciate the AT&T Foundation’s continued commitment to our front-line caregivers, especially now when it is needed most,” said Sarah Savage-Jones, president of Huntsville Hospital Foundation. “This generous gift will provide PPE and meet other needs as we continue fighting the virus and serving patients and families across our hospitals.”
Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Emergency Assistance Fund was established to help meet unanticipated critical supply needs for the regional hospital system. Money raised will also support qualifying employees impacted by the virus through an employee assistance fund.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is challenging daily life as we know it, and Alabama’s healthcare professionals are heroes operating on the frontlines of this crisis,” said Dave Hargrove, AT&T Alabama External and Legislative Affairs regional manager. “These brave men and women represent the best of us, and AT&T and the AT&T Foundation are proud to help the Huntsville Hospital Foundation provide additional personal protective equipment critical for the safety of our doctors and nurses.”
