The District Attorney of the 23rd Judicial Circuit is the Chief Law Enforcement Official in Madison County who represents the people of the State of Alabama in prosecuting all felony and some misdemeanor criminal cases which occur within Madison County. He employs a staff of 25 Assistant District Attorneys to support him in his duties which are specifically enumerated by Alabama Law.

Robert L. Broussard was appointed District Attorney of the 23rd Judicial Circuit of Alabama in May, 2009 by Gov. Bob Riley.
