About Us
The mission of the Department of Human Resources (DHR) is to partner with the community to promote family stability and provide for the safety and self-sufficiency of vulnerable citizens. It is the state's primary social service agency. DHR administers a variety of programs that assist both low income and those who need them, regardless of income. The agency protects people who are unable to look after their own needs. This includes the young, the elderly and the disabled.
