Established in 1895, Huntsville Hospital is a licensed 941-bed hospital that serves as the regional referral and trauma center for approximately a million people in north Alabama and southern Tennessee. A not-for-profit institution, Huntsville Hospital is governed by the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville, Alabama and is the the second largest hospital in Alabama. In recent years, the Hospital has expanded its service throughout the region with the development of Huntsville Hospital Health System, which includes hospitals in Madison, Athens, Decatur, Moulton, Red Bay and Sheffield
