About Us
The Home’s founders, George and Chessie Harris, began serving children in 1954. It was their earnest desire to share their love, compassion, and resources with the neglected and destitute children of Alabama that led to the home’s establishment. In 1958, Harris Home for Children became incorporated and in 1960, was licensed by the State of Alabama.
