About Us
As Alabama’s only seaport, the Port of Mobile has been a cornerstone of global trade for centuries—its story beginning with early explorers and evolving through generations of commerce that helped build the economic backbone of the United States. Established in 1928 following the Alabama Legislature’s authorization to construct the state docks, the Port became a catalyst for growth, expanding the region’s shipping capacity and opportunity.
