Join the North Alabama International Trade Association (NAITA), the Port of Huntsville, and the Georgia Ports to learn about key global supply chain connections in this Port Update. The Port of Savannah is home to the largest single-terminal container facility of its kind in North America, encompassing 1,345 acres. Savannah is also the third-busiest container gateway in the U.S., handling almost 4.5 million TEU's in FY2020. Strategically located to serve the Southeast U.S. and beyond, the Port of Savannah offers more scheduling flexibility, shorter transit times and greater efficiency for cargo destined for major inland markets.
The Port of Huntsville, serving the fast-growing Tennessee Valley Region, is one of those inland markets connected to the Port of Savannah. Import and export containers move daily between Huntsville and Savannah, via the Norfolk Southern intermodal network. The Port of Savannah and the Port of Huntsville provide a vital connection, linking Tennessee Valley companies to international markets around the world. Imports include automotive parts, electronics, industrial parts, furniture, retail goods, textiles and bulk chemicals. Exports include cotton/agricultural products, plastic pellets, bulk chemicals, beverage products and industrial abrasives.
Please join us as we learn how to take advantage of this key supply chain connection to global trade. Contact NAITA at naita@naita.org for further details.
