The UAH Department of History will host Dr. Elizabeth Thompson (Professor of Modern Middle East History and Islamic Studies at American University) for a lecture on her forthcoming book, titled " How the West Stole Democracy from the Arabs: The Syrian Arab Congress of 1920 and the Destruction of its Liberal-Islamic Alliance." (Grove-Atlantic Press, April 2020).The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. This event is sponsored by the Department of History and the UAH Humanities Center in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
