MEMBER EVENT: Art Exhibit Opening - "Habits for Humanity"
Yellow Tub Creative is thrilled to welcome you to this grand opening of a special solo exhibition featuring the compelling work of interdisciplinary artist and Navy Veteran, Angelo T. Robinson. This presentation marks the capstone event in Habitat Art Gallery and the HFHRV ReStore Arts and Events Programing inaugural series exploring the vital intersection of community, art and sustainability.
Presented by the HFHRV ReStore Arts and Events Program – a vibrant initiative designed to inspire creativity, foster community engagement, and promote sustainability while supporting Habitat for Humanity’s mission – this exhibition embodies the program's core values. The ReStore Arts and Events Program connects local artists, volunteers, and supporters, celebrating artistic talent and raising funds for safe, affordable homes through showcases, workshops, and unique opportunities for creative reuse.
Angelo T. Robinson's artistic practice resonates deeply with this mission. A resourceful and inventive creative, Robinson transforms the overlooked and discarded into powerful works of art. His unique approach incorporates a fascinating array of materials: found objects carrying hidden histories, printed materials given new context, items sourced directly from the aisles of Habitat ReStore, and even the rich texture of repurposed coffee grounds. These diverse elements are skillfully combined with a variety of paints and mediums, resulting in pieces that are both visually striking and conceptually layered. Robinson's work invites us to reconsider our relationship with everyday objects and materials, highlighting the potential for beauty and meaning in the repurposed. His commitment to sustainable practice through art mirrors the very essence of the HFHRV ReStore Arts and Events Program. We invite you to immerse yourselves in Angelo T. Robinson's distinct artistic world. Explore the textures, contemplate the transformations, and celebrate the power of creativity to inspire change and build community. Thank you for joining us for this significant final exhibition in this Habitat Art Gallery inaugural series.
"All of my work doesn't use 100% recycled materials. All of my paints and creative mediums aren't 100% environment friendly. I am well aware of that. However, if everyone did 1%+ better, used recycle materials 1%+ more, sourced 1%+ of materials from Habitat Restore, then as a whole we can start to tilt the tide of materials in landfills and oceans. At the same time, we would be supporting our local communities directly."
