INNOVATE HSV 2021
Innovate Huntsville will celebrate its 6th successful year by bringing a week long spotlight on innovation in Huntsville and north Alabama. The series of events will kick off with the traditional Ignite event hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, and the week will conclude with the Annual Entrepreneur Awards hosted by The Catalyst Center. This year there are a few new events to add to the lineup. RISE, a networking group serving north Alabama, will bring the Grow with Google event. This is a free event put on by Google to help small businesses and entrepreneurs learn how to navigate all the tools Google has for productivity and promotion for small businesses.
Rocket Hatch has new events being highlighted this year including a product launch, and a program launch. NAITA and HASBAT, two organizations that support entrepreneurs and innovation, are both hosting events that are free and open to the public to attend virtually and in-person. The Invention to Innovation Center at UAH, also known as I2C, will bring back their very popular pitch competition, BOOST. This is a pitch competition open to the public, where innovative entrepreneurs compete for prize money to further their ideas.
Each day will feature informative and engaging content that guides the audience through the inner workings of a true innovative and entrepreneurial experience. This week of celebration is supported by several local organizations including, BizTech, Huntsville Chamber of Commerce, UAH College of Business, HudsonAlpha, HASBAT, I2C at UAH, NAITA, SBDC, RISE, Rocket Hatch, & The Catalyst Center.
This effort has been led each year since its inception, by Larry Lewis. He is the CEO of BizTech and president of PROJECTXYZ, Inc; and is himself a serial entrepreneur who enthusiastically supports several innovative and entrepreneurial organizations in the Huntsville metro and Shoals areas. Larry’s leadership of this effort is supported by Vicki Morris, who serves as the communications coordinator for Innovate Huntsville week, and
who has been involved with the group since 2016.
