Ellen Didier is the founder and president of Red Sage Communications. Established in 2006 as a local branding and website design shop in Decatur, Red Sage has grown to become one of the state’s largest full-service integrated advertising agencies and works with clients around the country. It is home to a talented group of experts in destination, attraction, and place marketing. That includes “places” such as communities or attractions, as well as places of community significance like major employers, innovation centers, and campuses.
Didier’s path is one of unexpected twists and turns. Few life and career paths can boast such a diversity of milestones that include girl scout, college dropout, door-to-door salesperson, financial planner, founder of a successful advertising agency, and awards such as SBA’s Small Business Person of the Year for Alabama.
An avid community leader and volunteer, she is currently serving as a board member for several entrepreneur-focused nonprofits. Didier is a Rotarian, past chair for a number of organizations in Decatur and Huntsville, and a graduate of Leadership Alabama Class 22, Leadership Focus Class 32, and Leadership Morgan County. She lives in Decatur with her husband, Dan Thompson, and they have four children, four grandchildren, two dogs, one cat, and a boat named Sadie Bea.
