2023 Montgomery Trip

The Chamber's annual trip to the State Capitol is provides an opportunity for business and community leaders to meet with key state government officials. While in Montgomery we will meet with Gov. Ivey and the leadership of the Alabama Legislature.

The trip provides an excellent opportunity to network with other community leaders and press our critical state issues.
 
The Montgomery Trip will be an overnight stay. Travelers are welcome to drive themselves or "leave the driving to us."  A bus will depart from the Chamber parking lot at 1 p.m. on April 11 and travel to the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery for our reception honoring the leaders in State Government. We will depart Montgomery after lunch on April 12, arriving in Huntsville at approximately 4 p.m.
 
Bus transportation is included in the registration fee, regardless of whether you take the bus or not. Hotel reservation is not included.

Wednesday, April 12
•    7:45 – Breakfast Buffet opens – Room Alabama D/C  
•    8:00 – Program begins, Welcome & Introductions
•    8:10 – 8:35 Alabama Budget Overview - Sen. Arthur Orr & Rep. Rex Reynolds
•    Checkout of Hotel – drive to State House Building (or ride the bus)
•    9:30 – Convene on Floor of Alabama House of Representatives
•    9:30 – Rep. Nathaniel Ledbetter, Speaker of the House 
•  10:00 – Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth
•  10:30 – Rep. Anthony Daniels, Minority Leader
•  11:00 – Dr. Eric Mackey, Superintendent, Alabama Board of Education  
•  11:30 – Walk across street to RSA Plaza Terrace
•  12:00 – Lunch – Gov. Kay Ivey
