DESCRIPTION:This program is designed to equip small businesses with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of working with the Missile Defense Agency\, opening doors to new opportunities in the defense sector.\n\n\n\nWhether you're new to government contracting or looking to expand your current engagements\, this session will provide valuable insights and practical guidance to help you achieve your goals.\n\n \nSPEAKER\n\n\n\n\nLaura Anderson\n\nDeputy Director - Small Business Programs\n\nMissile Defense Agency/SB\n\n\n\nMs. Laura Anderson serves as the Deputy Director for Small Business Programs at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Working collaboratively with Program Management Offices across MDA as a small business advocate\, she applies extensive knowledge of acquisition regulations and various types of contracts\, policies and procedures to plan\, develop and implement initiatives that incentivize small business utilization in acquisitions supporting MDA's mission. She has served as the MDA Office of Small Business Outreach Program Manager\, Specialty Programs Manager and interim Mentor Prot g  Program Manager. The MDA Office of Small Business Programs won the Department of Defense (DoD) Vanguard Award for Fiscal Year 2020 for exceptionally meritorious service in advancing the ideals of acquisition excellence. The prestigious\, highly competitive award recognizes the DoD Component that best exemplifies a commitment to small business industrial competitiveness.\n\n\n\nAnderson's prior industry portfolio includes a diversity of both large and small business opportunities serving in the field of Contracting. She has supported MDA's Targets and Countermeasures Program where she worked as an Acquisition Manager. Additionally\, she previously served as the Outreach Program Manager for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Office of Small Business Programs.\n\n\n\nAnderson holds a Master of Science in Management - Acquisition & Contract Management from Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is Level III certified in Contracting and is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps. Laura has over 25 years of experience in Contracts and Acquisition.
