DESCRIPTION:No matter a company's size\, an employee handbook often serves as an important piece of corporate literature.\n\n \n\nIn this workshop\, we'll discuss the purpose and needs of an employee handbook\, as well as best practices for distribution and communication of its contents. We'll also review common handbook mistakes and necessary sections and policies.\n\n\n\nPresenter:\n\nMaike DeMaria\, MS\, SHRM-CP\n\nHR Business Advisor/Business Development Manager\n\nRocket City HR Consulting\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter:\n\nMaike DeMaria graduated from Trident University with a Master of Science in Health Care Administration degree. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Management and Administration degree from Germany.\n\n     In her 30-year international professional career\, DeMaria has worked in corporations\, nonprofit organizations\, and small businesses in project management\, business development\, audit\, and human resources. Her human resources experience includes benefits\, policies\, recruiting\, hiring\, and training.\n\n     DeMaria is involved in several nonprofits in a variety of functions\, such as a Board Member of Nexus Energy\, the American Heart Association\, Kids to Love\, the Job-Club\, and the March of Dimes. She also supports our veterans in writing resum s and performing mock interviews\, and acts as a mentor for the WEDC Foundation.\n\n     In addition to working for Rocket City HR Consulting\, DeMaria is an adjunct instructor at Athens State University. She and her family have been part of the Madison community for six years.
