DESCRIPTION:Small Business Saturday encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This single day has grown into a powerful nationwide movement\, and more and more people are taking part than ever before. Please come out and support small businesses! Shop Small\, Shop Local on Saturday\, Nov. 24!\n\n\n\nWe're also partnering with The Alabama Retail Association for their Shop Alabama for the Holidays tour.\n\n\n\nWe'll be kicking everything off with a Press Conference November 13 at Brooks & Collier. Be sure to join us at 2 p.m. for this event and support a local small business. Mayor Tommy Battle will also be in attendance.\n\n\n\nHelp us promote Small Business Saturday by participating in the #ShopSmallHSV Photo Contest! Just follow these four easy steps:\n\n\n\n        1. Stop by your favorite local restaurant or small business \n\n                on Saturday\, Nov. 24\n\n        2. Take a Selfie with owners\, staff\, friends\, signage\, etc.\n\n        3. Post your selfie to Instagram\, Facebook\, or Twitter to \n\n                show support using hashtag #ShopSmallHSV   \n\n                tag the Chamber to be eligible for prizes.\n\n        4. Win a prize: we'll choose 3 eligible photos at random to \n\n                win a gift card to a local business. Winners will be notified \n\n                on our Facebook page November 30. All winners will need \n\n                to pick up their gift cards on December 7 between \n\n                3 5 p.m. at the Chamber.\n\n\n\nWant to participate as a business?\n\nThe national Small Business Saturday campaign was launched by American Express in 2010 to encourage people to support small\, local businesses in their communities on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
