2019 Shop Small Business Saturday & Kick-off Press Conference

Small Business Saturday encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This single day has grown into a powerful nationwide movement, and more and more people are participating than ever before. Please come out and support small businesses. Shop Small, Shop Local on Saturday, Nov. 30!

We'll kick everything off with a Press Conference on November 19 at Rooster’s Crow Coffee Roastery. Be sure to join us at 2 p.m. for this event and support a local small business. Mayor Tommy Battle is also scheduled to be in attendance.

Help us promote Small Business Saturday by participating in our annual #ShopSmallHSV Photo Contest. Just follow these four easy steps:

	1.	Stop by your favorite local restaurant or small business on Saturday, Nov. 30
	2.	Take a Selfie with owners, staff, friends, signage, etc.
	3.	Post your selfie to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter to show support using hashtag #ShopSmallHSV – be sure to tag the Chamber!
	4.	Win a prize: we'll choose 2 eligible photos at random to win a gift card to a local business. Winners will be notified on our Facebook page December 6. All winners will need to pick up their gift cards on December 13 between 2–4 p.m. at the Chamber.

The national Small Business Saturday campaign was launched by American Express in 2010 to encourage people to support small, local businesses in their communities on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. On this day, participating businesses promote special offers, events, and in-store promotions to attract holiday shoppers or others who are looking for services.
